About this plant
Also known as Betula pendula, the White Silver Birch is a highly popular, medium-sized deciduous tree prized for its bright white trunk, graceful weeping branches, and triangular green leaves. In autumn, the foliage turns a rich golden colour before dropping. Small, winged, cone-like fruits appear and fall in autumn as well, adding extra seasonal interest. Birches are often planted in groups to create the look of a natural grove—usually in odd numbers—but they also work beautifully as a single feature tree. Grows to approximately 12m tall x 6m wide.
